THE TAX RESERVE CERTIFICATES (SERIES A) REGULATIONS

(Section 17)

   1. These Regulations may be cited as the Tax Reserve Certificates (Series A) Regulations.

   2. In these regulations "Act" means the Tax Reserve Certificates Act *, and "certificate" means a Tax Reserve Certificate issued under these Regulations.

   3. Every certificate issued under these Regulations shall be known as a Tanzania Tax Reserve Certificate (Series A).

   4. The prescribed rate of interest on any certificate shall be three per centum per annum.

   5. Every application for a certificate shall be made in the form set out in the First Schedule.

   6. Every certificate shall be issued in the form set out in the Second Schedule and shall be to the face value of £5 or a multiple of it.

   7. (1) Upon the issue of a certificate the Accountant-General shall cause to be entered in a register specially maintained for the purpose the full name and address of the person in whose name the certificate is issued and the number and face value of such certificate.

   (2) Upon receipt of notification of the transfer or transmission of a certificate the Accountant-General shall cause to be entered in such register the particulars of the transfer or transmission.

   8. The transfer of any certificate to the Commissioner under the provisions of section 6 of the Act shall be made in the form set out in the Third Schedule.

   9. The Commissioner shall notify the Accountant-General in the form set out in the Fourth Schedule hereto of the transfer of every certificate transferred to him under the provisions of section 6 of the Act and surrendered to the Accountant-General under the provisions of section 11 of the Act.

   10. (1) Notification under the provisions of subsection (2) of section 8 of the Act of the transfer or transmission of a certificate, other than a transfer to the Commissioner, shall be made to the Accountant-General in the form set out in the Fifth Schedule.

   (2) The fee which shall be paid to the Accountant-General on the transfer or transmission of every certificate in accordance with the provisions of section 8(3) of the Act shall be Shs. 5/-.

   11. Every certificate surrendered under the provisions of section 10 of the Act shall be remitted to the Accountant-General by registered post.

   12. (1) An application for the duplicate of any certificate under the provisions of section 12 of the Act shall be made to the Accountant-General in writing.

   (2) The fee for each duplicate shall be Shs. 10/-.

   13. Every application for an exchange of certificates under the provisions of section 14 of the Act shall be made to the Accountant-General in the form set out in the Sixth Schedule.
