    1. This Proclamation may be cited as the Establishment of Regions Proclamation.

    2. With effect from the fifteenth day of October, 1963, Tanzania shall be divided into the Regions specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto, and the said Regions shall be known by the names therein assigned to them and each Region shall include and consist of the Districts set out opposite to the name of that Region in the second column of the said Schedule.

    1. This Proclamation may be cited as the Establishment of Districts Proclamation.

    2. Tanzania shall be divided into the Districts mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto, the said Districts shall be known by the names therein assigned to them and each District shall include and consist of the area or areas now known and officially recognized for purposes of administration by the name or names set opposite to the name of that District in the second column of the said Schedule.

    Commencing at a point in the Songeti Valley 460 yards north of the Arusha/Nairobi Road, the boundary runs in a south westerly direction in a bearing of 224 degrees (magnetic) to where it meets the Selian River; thence in southerly direction down the Selian to its confluence with the Burka River; thence along the Burka downstream to where it meets the Arusha/Oljoro Road; thence in a south easterly direction and in a straight line to the summit of the Mueriet Hill; thence in an easterly direction in a bearing of 97 degrees (magnetic) to the confluence of the Burka and Shem River; thence along the Shem in a south easterly direction to its confluence with the Kijenge River; thence in a southerly direction along the Kijenge River to its confluence with an unnamed stream which flows from the Loibon Hill; thence in a straight line to the summit of the Loibon Hill; thence in north easterly direction to the summit of the Losilwa Hill; thence in north north easterly direction to the railway crossing on the old Arusha/Moshi Road; thence in a north and easterly direction along the railway to where it meets the Nduruma River; thence in a north westerly direction up the Nduruma to the bridge on the Arusha/Moshi Road; thence in the same direction along the Nduruma for 200 yards, thence in a westerly direction along the Arusha/Moshi Road to where it meets the Emolosiopi Stream; thence in a north westerly direction in a bearing of 294 degrees (magnetic) to a point in the Songeti Valley, the point of commencement.

Point 7927 feet in the Nou Forest Reserve; thence north easterly along the Magara escarpment to the foot of the Magara escarpment at the northern boundary of L.O. No. 18329; thence north eastwards along this boundary to a point where it meets the southern boundary of Hassama Forest Reserve; thence the boundary follows a southerly and north easterly direction along the common boundary made by the Forest Reserve and L.O. Nos. 18329, 17792, 15826, 16096 and 15894 to the end of the common boundary at survey beacon LB 462; thence along the northern boundary to the source of the stream to its confluence with the Mutungurir River; thence down the Mutungurir River to the south western corner of L.O.     Commencing at the confluence of the Mwerusi River and Ruboroga; thence up the latter to its confluence with Kavahesi River; thence up the Kavahesi River to the valley separating Kabale and Nyakitama Villages leaving the latter in Ngara District and the former Biharamulo District to the Nyakichabo Valley; thence along the Nyakichabo Valley northwards to the Nyakichabo Valley; thence down this River to its junction with a track to the junction of old tracks; thence southeast across the western shore of the lake Burigi; thence south east for 1 mile and south for ¾ mile to the estuary of the Kasongenye River in Lake Burigi; thence up the Kasongenye for 3½ kilometres; thence due east to the summit of a hill; thence east north for 6 kilometres to another hill summit; thence in a south-easterly direction for 7 kilometres to a third hill summit thence in an easterly direction to the main Bukoba Biharamulo Road; thence along this road for 2 miles to the fork; thence in a south easterly direction through Nyamichuma Hill and Mtukula Hill; thence due east to a point just south of Chakazimbe Island; thence in a southerly direction down the middle of the Ruwondo channel through Emin Pasha Gulf to a point midway between Byasarara point and Mirumbe point; thence southwesterly and southerly passing through the middle of Bukome Bay to the estuary of the Kabunso River; thence up the Kabunso to its source 5 miles from its crossing by a path; thence south westerly to the source of Nikonga River; thence down the Nikonga River to its confluence with Bulere River at latitude 3℃12' South and Longitude 32℃00' East; thence up the Mwenukusi and Mhama River; thence due west to the Mwenukusi River; thence down the Mhama River 10 miles; thence due west for approximately 2½ miles to a point 5 miles up Bulere River crossing over 3 old paths to its junction with the Ulembera stream; thence up this stream to an old German road; thence for 3 miles along this road westwards to the Bisi River; thence following the Bisi River for approximately 8 miles to the confluence of the Moyowosi River to its confluence with Mwerusi River; thence up the Mwerusi to its confluence with the Ruboroga the point of commencement.

    Commencing at a point on the Kagera River midway between Boundary Pillars 26 and 27 on the Tanzania-Uganda International Boundary; thence due east following the international boundary along the 1℃ South latitude to Lake Victoria; thence in a curve keeping 1 mile distance from the land north of Rubafu promontory and back to the 1℃ south parallel of latitude to a point in Lake Victoria at latitude 1℃S and longitude 32℃42' East; thence due south to a point 5 miles east of Nabuyonga Island in Lake Victoria; thence due west to the mainland in Kashokero Bay; thence in the same direction through Omulushanga Swamp to the Ngono River; thence up the Ngono to the confluence with the Mleleizi River; thence up the Mlelezi to the Rwantege Valley; thence south westerly crossing the Nyakatanga Ibwera Road at about 7 miles from Nyakatanga to Migogo Hill summit; thence southerly to Kanoni Hill; thence in the same direction to a hill survey mark No. 8/4/72 in the Burigi Hill ranges west of Mubunda; thence south westerly to the source of an unnamed stream flowing into Lake Burigi; thence down this stream in Lake Burigi; thence for about 3 miles; thence northwards and westwards following the western boundaries of the Ihangiro, Kianja, Kiziba and Missenye chiefdoms of the Bukoba District which are common to the eastern boundary of Karagwe chiefdom to the Kagera River at a point midway between BP 26 and 27 on the international boundary, the point of commencement.

    Commencing at the Kigosi River which separates Kigosi-Mayowosi Forest Reserve in Bukombe District and Masumbwe Forest Reserve in Kahama District thence at a point where the Idahina Plains separate the Iponya Ward in Bukombe District and Idahina Ward in Kahama District, the boundary traces the Kigosi through the centre of Mwendakulima Plains that separates the Iponye Ward in Bukandwe in Bukombe District, and the Igwamanoni and Ngogwa Wards in Kahama, and crosses the Isaka-Rusumo Road eastward through the Mwendakulima Plains separating the Bukwandwe Ward in Bukombe District and the Ngogwa Ward in Kahama District north-eastwards to a point where it separates the Bukwandwe, Ngogwa and Ntobo Wards in Kahama District. Thence then the boundary proceeds northwards through the plains that separate the Lunguya Ward in Bukombe District and Segese Ward in Kahama District Buhegela Ward in Bukombe District and Lunguya in Kahama District where it joins the Lunguya in Kahama District, thence it joins the boundary that separates the Bukombe and Kahama District in Shinyanga Region and Geita in Mwanza Region.

From Chahuza trigonometric point the boundary runs westward 300 degrees within a distance of 7 km and then drop to the south with 245℃ within a horizontal distance of 15 km from that point it deviates with the bearing of 310 degrees with a distance of 15 km from the points the boundaries run perpendicular to the north towards west, that is 270 degrees within a horizontal distance of 9 km where it runs directly to Mwigi (TTP 185) trigonometric point which is about 11 km away from Mwigi trigeometric point the boundary runs directly to Salala trigeometric point the boundary runs with the bearing of 307 degrees up to the junction of Lonje River and TANZAM highway about 20 km. away, then deviates with 260℃ with a distance of 8 km to the points where it deviates to the north along Gwiri River with 356 degrees within a horizontal distance of 10 km and with the same boundary and distance up to the common boundary with Chunya District. From the point it deviates with the bearing of 20 degrees with a distance of 28 km whereby the boundary runs to the north parallel with the north Axis at about 23 km the boundary also runs with 310 degrees within a horizontal distance of 12 km and the perpendicular with the north Axis towards west within a distance of 11.5 km from the point the boundary runs along Msanja River for about 21 km before it changes the direction towards north for about 12 km and then 47 km with direction of 50 degrees along the same Msanja River. At that point the boundary also runs perpendicular to the north direction within a distance of 28 km and deviates with 80 degrees with a Horizontal distance of 41 km. From that point the boundary runs along Itindo River and changes direction at the point where Itinde/Marengamadu intersect and runs along Marengandu River and also deviates with 140 degrees within a distance of 7 km and then runs along Mjakapombe River within 28 km before it deviates with 205 degrees within a horizontal distance of 44 km changes direction to 240℃ within a horizontal distance of 28 km and runs directly with 130 degrees to Chambwi about 12 km away, where it started.

Thence proceeds south-east along a road up to a point for a distance of 7 km west of 33℃30'E and 6 km east of 15℃15'S. Thence it curves to go south-eastwards for a distance of 10 km west of 33℃30'E and 10 km south of 15℃15'S. Thence it curves even more, proceeding south-westwards up to a point where it meets with the Central Railway Line 16 km east of 33℃15'E and 15 km north of 5℃30'S. Thence it follows the Central Railway Line until it crosses Chona River 12 km west of 33℃45'E and 7 km north of 5℃30'S. thence the boundary traces the Chona River south eastwards to a point 13 km north of 5℃45'S and at 34℃00'E on the western side, the boundary of Tabora District starts at 5℃25'S and 32℃30'E at Walla River and goes north-westwards for a distance of 37.5 km at 5℃7'S and 32℃21'E before it goes northwards at 5℃2'S and 32℃22'E for 9.5 km after crossing the road from Tabora to Urambo and Railway Line to Mpanda. Thence it proceeds northwest for 16.5 km before curving at 4℃57'S and 32℃16'E and proceed north-west for 12 km at 4℃27'S and 32℃31'E for a distance of 26 km.
