THE AFFILIATION (FEES AND COSTS) RULES

(Section 15)

G.N. No. 183 of 1949

    1. These Rules may be cited as the Affiliation (Fees and Costs) Rules.

    2. The following fees are hereby prescribed–

    (a)    On administering an oath under section 3 or 5(2) ..............

    (b)    On the issue of every summons other than a witness summons

    (c)    On the issue of a witness summons .................................

as laid down in the Court Fee Rules, item 30 of Schedule I (A.L. [13] p. 5). 1

    (f)    On hearing, under section 5(1) ..........................................

    3. The fees mentioned in rule 2 of these Rules may be remitted either in whole or in part by the magistrate if on inquiry he is satisfied that the person liable to pay such fees has no means to do so.

    4. In any proceedings under the Act, the magistrate may order the payment of costs by any party to the proceedings upon the same basis and as near as may be on the same scale as in ordinary civil proceedings in his court, and may remit the costs or any part of the costs as he is satisfied the person liable to pay has no means to do so.
